Live webcast on Framework-based teaching of principle-based standards
On Tuesday 7 December the IFRS Foundation will hold a webcast from 10:00 to 11:30 London time (GMT), and this will be repeated from 15:00 to 16:30 London time (GMT).

The session is designed for those teaching IFRSs and will focus on Framework-based teaching of principle-based accounting standards. The webcast will be presented by Mary Barth, Professor of Accounting, Stanford University and Academic Advisor to the IASB, and Michael Wells, Director, IFRS Education Initiative, IFRS Foundation.

There is no charge to attend the web presentation, but you need to register to participate. You can do this now or any time before the presentation. If you register now, the provider will automatically remind you of the presentation nearer the time.

The Indian Accounting Association Research Foundation (IAARF) will hold its Tenth International Accounting Conference in Taj Bengal Hotel, Kolkata 700 027, on Saturday and Sunday, the 8th and 9th January, 2011 in collaboration with International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER), Deloitte, Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management (EIILM), Kolkata and Department of Commerce, University of Calcutta.

June 25-29, 2011: South African Accounting Association 2011 International Conference with IAAER

This is a three day event that will comprise of plenary sessions and concurrent paper sessions and will include an IFRS Teaching and Research workshop co-hosted by IASCF and IAAER. The Conference’s theme is: Accounting education’s role in enhancing sustainable business driven by professional and ethical business leaders. It will provide a forum for educators in accounting research and related fields. It aims to address the objectives of SAAA of initiating research into accounting and related subjects, to encourage and assist in the publishing of research findings, to disseminate relevant information pertaining to accounting and related disciplines as widely as possible, and to continuously identify and address contemporary questions arising from the environment within which accountancy is practiced. Papers in Accounting and Accounting Education related fields will be welcomed.

November 4-5, 2011: ACCOUNTING RENAISSANCE: Arising from the Crisis and Looking to the Future. Learning from Histories and Institutions

The Conference intends to build on the awareness that the global financial crisis has challenged the accounting and auditing realm from many points of views. Contributions are invited from authors that wish to investigate from a variety of perspectives (including that of policy-making) and with different methodologies, the relationships between financial crisis and accounting and auditing from the point of view of specific national or local contexts, as well as from a global standpoint, addressing also the ways forward for the accounting domain in a complex world where corporate information of financial and non-financial nature will play a more and more important role.
